Gisela McDaniel's Manhaga Fu'una at Pilar Corrias London

Last weekend I went to see this *amazing* exhibit of Gisela McDaniel's work at Pilar Corrias and it was truly incredible!
The paintings were brightly colored and contained little objects, flowers, memorabilia and teeth! The sitters are focused on diasporic Famaloa’an CHamoru (Chamorro women), the indigenous community from the Marianas Islands in the north-western Pacific, of which McDaniel has heritage.
I don't want to say too much because you really need to see the works in the flesh to understand! We're working on something special with Gisela so stay tuned.....
