Hard to find artists?
Every so often I come across artists that I actually find quite difficult to keep track of in terms of new works and any shows and exhibitions. I'm wondering if anyone else experiences this and also has a list of artists that they consider almost 'off the grid'?
For me, its definitely artists like Mayuka Yamamoto and Johnson Eziefula that I don't have much information on in regards to upcoming shows.
I know exactly what you mean! If the artist doesn't have IG I find it makes it so much harder to get updates from them. Agreed with using Artsy/ adding yourself to their email list. I would also add that subscribing to the artist's gallery newsletters or newsletters of galleries that work with artist you like or similar artists is really helpful. They always share new exhibtions, works, art fairs etc so it is easy to keep track.
Some artists I consider off the grid are:
Lenz Geerk
Patrick Alston
Antonio Oba
Sarah Sze
Jennifer Packer

I kinda know this feeling from lesser known artists that are sometimes still in school/studying - artsy helps a lot in keeping track, but even some galleries aren't on there. I often subscribe to their website and/or email them directly for them to keep me in the loop - IG also helps a lot just to see what they're up to

Thanks for the tips. one from me is that i also follow the ig of the school/programe they are on as well if they are still studying. As you said though, not everyone is on artsy which is a shame as it is REALLY helpful.
