Recap of Adrian Ghenie's solo show at Pace Gallery. These new works, charcoal drawings, "examine banal and sometimes grotesque figures engaged in the most typical actions of a technological society, marrying the tradition of Otto Dix and George Grosz to a contemporary vision of people obsessed with their cell phones, masked with N95s, or idly fidgeting with the remote controls as they surrender to their televisions." I've been to over 15 shows in the past month so I'm trying to share here only the ones that I feel are worth a second look :) Seoul has around 50 shows currently running 😳 so definitely plently to choose from!
